Ok, here we go. Gonna be a bit of a grab bag this time so hang on.

First off, any of you guys who were NOT there on sunday ya missed a great time. 37 degrees, ok ice and one sub per side. In other words, sublime. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING more fun than an actual hockey game outdoors. The only improvement would be a pair of goalies, but I am so not complaining. The sun was bright, the skating was pretty quick--considering the lack of subs--truly reminds me how I got into this in the first place.

***News Flash***

I have a new celebrity crush (highly rare for me). A one miss Diablo Cody. Now she is a major babe but after that Letterman segment I was like,

"Huh. Wow." (I think Dave felt the same way)

Saw her movie "Juno" and realized that if that script came out of her brain then that is totally the kind of brain this guy likes. The body it it lives in is pretty darn cute too. Anyhow, I bought her memoir and read it in one sitting the same day and I was again;

"Huh. Wow"

You see even though the content was very very very not something i could imagine actually doing, well the writing style and tone was. Maybe I can/could actually write. And it motivated me to restart this thing. Now she has had the meteoric rise of all meteoric rises (odd metaphor tho--meteors fall from the sky, not rise up into it) but she started out blogging very early on. Obviously, her blogspot "The Pussy Ranch", offers a degree of implied lasciviousness that I, alas, cannot match in any way shape or form. But she's got a great written voice, and according to a guy I know who worked with her at City Pages, she's an A-#1 gal. So good for her on her major career upgrade.

Okay, so here's a bit about the Team:

After the heartbreaker of a loss last sunday (I'm gonna try to work backwards and forwards with the game reports) the AK Bars were pissed and unfortunately, were took it out two days later on the Buccanneers. Those guys won the D-2 championship last year and their team must have split into d-1 and c-2 levels. The poor bucs are 1-11 this season so far and we really laid into them last wednesday. Jeren "Drop Pass" Anderson said he wanted to beat the 9-0, unfortunatly, the score was only 8-1, but he's an upbeat guy. I played forward again, had a few chances but didn't score, but it was fun to be out there again with my old linemates from last year, the Ah-Nye-Hilator, and of course "Backhand" Boyko. Even tho the score was high, the game wasn't as memorable as it could be, my personal fav part being my fairly obvious elbow to a bucs chest while we were battling right in front of their bench. Their howls of protest just out another smile on my face as I think about it. I'm really not a goon tempermentally, but it really is starting to grow on me it's so fun.

We have a practice wednesday, and a major major matchup against the Nemesis on Saturday. It really is one that we HAVE to win or we are sliding farther back into 2nd/3rd place. Playoffs or no, I want to win the division.
